31. Second proviso omitted by the Direct Tax Laws (Amendment) Act, 1987, w.e.f. 1-4-1989. Prior to its omission, second proviso was substituted by the Payment of Bonus (Amendment) Act, 1976, with retrospective effect from 25-9-1975.
